Michael A. Hearn
A specialist in construction defect and property damage litigation, Michael has been a leader in his field for more than three decades. In addition to California, Michael also leads the law firm of Hearn & Fleener in Colorado representing owners and associations across Colorado.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Delaware and has a Juris Doctorate from Western State University College of Law. He is a member of the California and Colorado State Bars and licensed in Federal Court. Recently, he became a member of the Tribal Courts and is representing Native American Tribal Counsels concerning construction defects in residences, hotels and casinos.
Michael’s reputation extends far beyond the courtroom. For more than 20 years, he has been an invited panelist for many legal workshops hosted by the Community Associations Institute, Southern California Defense Council, Design Professional Insurance Company, West Coast Casualty Annual Construction Defect Seminar, and numerous insurance and management companies.
Michael’s experience is buttressed by his stake in a real estate development firm leading successful new commercial developments since the mid 80’s. Participating in the design and construction of numerous commercial buildings gives him an extremely strong culmination of experience in both law and construction.
Robert A. von Esch IV
Robert A. von Esch IV joined the Law Offices of Michael A. Hearn in 2012 as a junior partner. Robert has been a licensed attorney in the State of California since 2003. He is admitted to practice in the California Supreme Court, United States District Court for the Central District of California, United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
Robert is a member of the Orange County Bar Association and has been a featured author in their publications and speaker at their section meetings. Robert has also been a featured speaker for the Combined Claims Conference and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals.
Robert has been inducted into the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which is a distinction set aside for the top 1% of trial attorneys nationwide. Robert has also been nominated as a Super Lawyer “Rising Star” and has a “Superb 10/10” rating on AVVO.
Robert graduated from UCSB in 1999 and Western State College of Law in 2002.
Robert has tried several cases to verdict or judgment and obtained numerous multi-million dollar recoveries.
